The Metro Business Association hosts a variety of events. Tuesday luncheons features guest speakers and presenters. We also host workshops and social events. See some examples below.
The Association was delighted to have Joe Lang, Entrepreneur Peer Advocate with the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Network present to our group. Visit their website http://www.ednns.ca .
Four expert presenters rotated among four tables of participants. The speakers moved on after only 15 intense, interactive minutes at each table. Co-organizer Bill Mills, a director of Heritage Credit Union, kept time with MBA’s traditional bicycle horn.
“I’ve had four valuable jolts tonight,” commented one entrepreneur at the end of round 4.
Experts in their fields from Metro Business Association covered the following topics:
If I Had Only Known: Bookkeeping to track your business’s health
Deborah Loughnan, WindowWalk Computer Education
Tough Customers: Alternatives to the collections route
Bruce Mosher, Civil Enforcement Services
The Gimmick: How promotional items keep attention on your business
Ron Norquay, Advocate Art and Promotional Products
Go Ahead, Be Lazy: Big and little ways to customize your business software to your tasks
Andy Butler, Compatible Computer Systems
According to Deborah Loughnan, one of the evening’s organizers, “This was MBA’s way of meeting more business people by offering them something of value.” According to their guests, MBA succeeded. Says one, “I was looking for something beneficial and I took away something from every speaker.” Jeff Doyle of SmileDog adds, “If you learn as much as I learned tonight, I’d go to these all the time. I met so many good people.”
